SPORTS WEEKEND 2005

This year the weather was very kind to most of us. Prep School Sports went ahead for the first time in four years on the Thursday. Unfortunately Junior School Sports had to be cancelled because of rain on the Friday, but the rest of the weekend was sunny and warm, and Senior School Sports went ahead. The marquee was open both for Former Pupils and current parents to meet each other, and for refreshments. There were many people in the marquee throughout the day, and the Gospel Choir gave a wonderful recital at lunchtime.

Supper and Music in the Marquee was very lively. The supper was pork on a spit with salads, and the music was provided by Big Vern ‘n’ the Shootahs , a Blues Brothers band who were extremely popular. The marquee was full, with nearly 260 people attending.

The Sunday of the weekend turned out to be another lovely sunny day. The Pipe Band put on a magnificent display, starting with pipers on the roof of the school. The youngest members of the band played their chanters, while the drummers were inventive, witty and furiously fast.
